Have a High School Diploma or GED, have a stable work history for the past 10 years, take a personal inventory survey, pass a math test, background check, and drug test. Applicants must be mechanically inclined and capable of working independently. Journeyman status is achieved once the program is complete and is similar to obtaining a college degree. After that, a person can achieve Master Machine Technician. While completing the Apprentice Program you can earn credits toward an Associate's Degree in Machine Technology. Cox Mfg has partnered with Wayland Baptist University to roll out a higher education program that will allow Cox Apprentices to earn 31 college credits, which is half way to an Associateโs Degree. Most of the other credits will come through our Apprenticeship. The cost will be covered by Cox Mfg. Eligibility starts with Year 2 Apprentices up through Apprentice Graduates.
