PSA 📢

San Antonio Metro Health will be hosting no-cost COVID-19 testing at several Alamo Colleges District facilities, including Palo Alto College, to help reduce wait times in the area.

COVID testing (PCR tests) will be run by Community Labs on a walk-up basis only (no appointment necessary) and results will be provided within 24 hours.

Such a great story and it all started here at Palo Alto College! Congratulations to our Alumni! 🎉

ICYMI: Something very special happened this weekend at UTSA Commencement. ❤️ Rene Neira, 87, crossed the stage with his granddaughter, Melanie Salazar. 🎓🎓

The two began their academic journey together at Palo Alto College. Then, they enrolled at UTSA together.

Rene is terminally ill and in hospice now, but he’s just a few credits away from earning his bachelor’s degree in economics.

On Saturday afternoon, Melanie pushed her grandfather across the stage to receive his Degree in Recognition while she received her B.A. in Communication.

The crowd erupted into applause as Rene and Melanie received their diplomas together.

Congratulations, Rene & Melanie. Welcome to the UTSA Alumni family. 🤙

Today the Alumni department had the pleasure of participating in giving a tour to Marina Gonzales, J.D. President & CEO of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It was amazing to see how nicely our new “Rio Grande Building" is coming together. We very much enjoyed meeting Marina Gonzales.
