St. Mary's Law students are receiving an insider's view to the Texas Supreme Court. As a retired state justice, the Hon. Paul Green (J.D. '77) is offering the nine students in the course the opportunity to learn about Texas' top court while they assume the identities of the current justices.

St. Mary's Law J.D. students are getting a unique insider's view of the Texas Supreme Court. The Inside the Supreme Court of Texas course is taught by the Hon. Paul Green (J.D. '77), who retired in 2020 after serving as a justice on the Texas Supreme Court for 15 years.

The majority of the inaugural Online J.D. Program Section O cohort had an opportunity to visit the day before last Saturday's Spring 2026 Law Commencement. Cohort members, who reside across Texas and the U.S., earned their J.D. from the country's first ABA-approved fully online program. These new J.D. graduates shared a special camaraderie since starting classes in the Fall 2022 semester. To learn more about the Online J.D. A huge congratulations to the St. Mary's Law J.D. students (now alumni) who were named to the Harlan Society, which honors the top 10% of graduates earning the Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. The Harlan Society is named in honor of U.S. Supreme Court Justice John M. Harlan (1877-1911).

Congratulations to St. Mary's Law's newest graduates who crossed the stage on Saturday, May 16. This new alumni group of 285 graduates includes 25 who earned their Master of Jurisprudence, or as the degree has been renamed, the Master of Legal Studies; 223 who earned their Doctor of Jurisprudence and 37 who earned their Master of Laws. The School of Law wishes all graduates great success, health and happiness in their next endeavors.

St. Mary's Law students are pursuing public health impact through new dual degrees. Students can now combine their legal studies (either a Doctor of Jurisprudence or a Master of Legal Studies) with a Master of Public Health from UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.
