As students prepare to enter college, freshman have several concerns, such as getting good grades and making new friends. The University of Texas at San Antonio has entrusted First-Year Experience with the responsibility of assisting students with these matters by providing them with a bridge between the two worlds of high school and college.

FYE is proud to present, Aditi Sharma. Aditi is an FYE Peer Mentor who is graduating this weekend with a major in Biology and a minor in Business. She says, “Being a part of FYE as a Peer Mentor has been an amazing experience from the skills I’ve gained to the people I’ve gotten to know. I’ve honestly learned so much about the world, my major, and myself through my experience at UTSA and the memories I’ve made here are ones I’ll definitely treasure forever.”
Aditi will be attending the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio starting in July. We are very proud of your accomplishments and hope the best for you!

We want to congratulate our Peer Mentor Austin Buck, a Public Health major, for pursuing a PharmD at UT Austin this fall 2018. While we have a large student body, Austin appreciates the close-knit environment of UTSA. He says, "Coming into college four years ago, I wasn't really expecting to make the life-long friends that I am grateful to have leaving my undergraduate career. I definitely wouldn't be where I am today without the support of my friends, family, and my FYE family." In the words of Oprah Winfrey, "If you look at what you have in life, you'll always have more. If you look at what you don't have in life, you'll never have enough." Best of luck on your future pursuits, Austin!

We at FYE want to congratulate Charleston Henry West for graduating with his Master's of Science in Business. He will be attending the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine as part of their class, Class of 2022. He has been a Roadrunner since coming in as a freshman in 2013. UTSA has shaped Charleston in many ways: "In the beginning I believed college was simply a stepping stone for what comes after. That in time, I will forget my experiences as I moved further. However, they have definitely shaped my experiences and the kind of medical practice I want to provide to the world. For, 'I do not wish to be a gemstone that shines like the stars. I wish to be great for the charcoal covered stones on the roadside.'" -Charleston.
