UIW Teacher Network

UIW Teacher Network The UIW Teacher Network offers high-quality support to our graduates as they enter the teaching profession beyond our certification program.

We provide our members with opportunities to collaborate and grow professionally beyond college graduation. Our goal is to provide our teachers with on-going support during their critical first three years of teaching. Current research shows that many teachers leave the profession within the first five years. The UIW Teacher Network is committed to helping our alumni remain in the classroom well b

eyond those five years.

โ€‹For new teachers, the start of your professional career can be both exhilarating and daunting, but you will not be alone. The UIW Teacher Network will be there to support you. UIW Teacher Network - "Empowering Educators through Support, Growth, and Collaboration"

We are so proud of Christian Eichman, History Teacher at Sam Houston High School, in San Antonio ISD. This week Mr. Eichman was awarded the "Rising Teacher Award" at the high school level for the entire school district.

โ€œMr. Eichman shows intentional effort in knowing his students academically, socially, and emotionally. He uses formative data, classroom observations, and student feedback to adjust instruction and provide targeted support. He differentiates tasks and questioning to meet diverse learning needs and ensures all students are supported, including those who require additional scaffolding or enrichment. His strong rapport with students is evident in their willingness to engage, ask questions, and seek guidance, reflecting trust and positive relationships that enhance learning outcomes.โ€
