UTSA German Program The UTSA German Club and Stammtisch meet weekly during the academic year. UTSA offers a three-year

German is the language taught at UTSA that is most closely related to English. In fact, you already know many German words like Musik, Autobahn, Angst, Restaurant, and Kindergarten. Introductory classes at UTSA require no prior knowledge of German. UTSA offers a three-year German language sequence and literature and culture courses with varied topics such as Medieval to Contemporary German litera

ture, German Fairy Tales, German Drama, and German Cinema, and courses on contemporary issues and the cities of Dresden, Berlin and Munich. Studying German can give you an advantage in disciplines such as history, international studies, music, philosophy, chemistry, physics, engineering, and others. Many students choose to add a minor in German to another field.

Are you considering study abroad next summer? We are aiming to run the UTSA Dresden program in June 2022. Let's get you ready for travel!

Current passport processing times are significantly delayed and we don't want you to miss out on a program abroad because you don't have a valid passport.

Apply by the 4th of July for the least stress in processing times! We want you to be successful in your application and for many study abroad programs you need your passport months ahead of your actual departure date.

If you aren't sure if you need to renew your passport, check the expiration date and make sure it is valid for 6 months after the end date of your study abroad program.
