On this day, five years ago. Steve Jobs passed away.

Steve Jobs was one of two faces that formed the company that is widely regarded as one of the most profitable companies called Apple. While Jobs is widely considered to be the face of Apple, his various accomplishments during his lifetime led Apple to where it is today. Did you know:

(1955) Steve Jobs was born and was given up for adoption.
(1976) Jobs, along with Steve Wozniak formed Apple Computers and built their first PC in Jobs’ parent’s garage.
(1980) Apple, as a company, goes public – and at only 25 years old, Jobs is worth $239 million.
(1984) Apple launches the Macintosh desktop computer, a computer with a screen built in.
(1998) Apple releases the iMac, which becomes the fastest-selling PC ever.
(2001) Apple opens up their first retail store, along with releases the first iPod. The iPod would lead the digital music era past the CD era.
(2003) Apple releases the iTunes music store.
(2004) Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
(2007) Apple introduces the iPhone to the world – the first phone with a touchscreen with no physical keyboard attachment.
(2010) Apple introduces the iPad.
(2011) Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple on August 24th. Less than two months later on October 5th, Jobs lost the battle with cancer and passed away.
