The SMSU & Asi Csusb are excited to share The Coyote Series Presents: Hispanic Heritage Month. Our first feature is Suany Echevarria with her poem. "The poem details the memories I have of my childhood in Guatemala. The moments that I carry with me, those that lie within my soul, the small pieces of a life I had in my native land. They remind me that some of my gratefulness comes from my humble beginnings, those that carry me to strive for more." "My Culture influences my ability to look beyond a nationality, I focus on the person and how I could either be positively influenced by others or learn more about what makes them like a fingerprint, one of a kind and unique. It allows me to see the differences and similarities as well as accept them for who they are. Finally it allows me to connect through our culture, customs, and beliefs to appreciate and better understand their individuality."
