Going outside to learn math! What?
Nature provides a great opportunity to develop any skills, it helps children use interactive approaches to learning, especially numeracy skills. Children can use nature while learning by using things like pebbles, sticks and leaves to have hands-on experience with math. It can help with addition/subtraction, counting, and measuring skills. Being hands on allows children to see objects in real time being taken or added which can improve math skills by providing visual support for concepts like more than and less than. There are many benefits to going outside and taking a break from screen time to learn in nature and build strong early math skills.
