Mesa College offers a beautiful campus environment, including a state-of-the art Learning Resource Center, which opened in April 1998. The new Center was constructed at a total cost of $20 million, and its four stories occupy 107,000 square feet in the middle of

the campus. The facility offers expanded library holdings, an enormous computer lab for student use, and advanced media facilities. The campus also includes classroom buildings, science labs, an athletics complex and fields, a theatre and fine arts facilities, and beautiful landscaping. I-400 Building

Mesa College provides extensive collegiate experiences for students, including such opportunities as student government, 19 intercollegiate athletic teams, clubs, performance groups, and a host of activities in which students learn leadership skills, expand their cultural horizons, and celebrates cultural diversity. Stephen is transferring to SDSU this fall to continue his studies in Aerospace Engineering after discovering a passion for renewable energy systems, space exploration, and innovation right here at Mesa.

From stepping outside her comfort zone to center stage, meet Mesa College’s 2026 Commencement Speaker, Alina Vasilenko 🎓✨

Business Administration student Alina Vasilenko discovered her passion for business and hospitality through global travel experiences and the inspiration of her father, a successful entrepreneur. Now, she’s preparing to address the Class of 2026 with a message centered on courage, growth, and embracing new opportunities.

Through her involvement with Mesa’s Associated Student Government and campus activities, Alina developed the confidence, leadership, and communication skills that helped shape her journey at Mesa College.

“It’s scary, nerve-racking, and uncomfortable to put yourself out there,” said Vasilenko. “But stepping outside of your comfort zone can open so many doors for you.”
Alina encourages students to stay involved, apply for opportunities, volunteer, and remain open to new experiences because “if you never try, you will never know what opportunities, connections, or talents you could have discovered within yourself.”

Congratulations, Alina! We can’t wait to hear your message at commencement. 💙🖤
