Fall 2026 Online tutoring available--Just in time for Labor Day weekend!

Both NetTutor and STAR-CA are found on one platform that can be accessed in Canvas.
To enroll in the ASC’s Canvas course shell, Scan the QR code or visit: https://sdccd.instructure.com/enroll/MEAEEJ
You will be taken to a new page titled "Enroll in Miramar Tutoring".
Click the "Enroll in Course" button on the right-hand side, and then, you will be on the front page of the Miramar Tutoring Canvas course.
Click the "NetTutor" link on the left-hand side menu to access both NetTutor and STAR-CA.

NetTutor
NetTutor has one-on-one, online meeting, paper drop-off, and question drop-off.

While some core subjects on NetTutor are offered 24/7, year-round, on-demand live tutoring, availability for other specialized subjects varies. Please check the daily schedules of the subjects that you need.

STAR-CA has live, drop-in tutoring.

Closed Labor Day
Monday, September 7, 2026

The Academic Success Center, Math Lab, and Writing Lab will be closed for Labor Day. Our offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 8.

Goodbye Summer 2026

The ASC will be closed from August 7-23 in order for the tutors and staff to prepare for the upcoming fall 2026 semester.
The ASC will be open for fall 2026 tutoring and academic support services on Monday, August 24, 2026.

ASC Important End of Summer 2026 Dates

August 4: ASC Assignment Drop-Off Service Closes at 3:00 pm.
In order to give our tutors enough time to review and respond to the increased volume of assignments received at the Assignment Drop-Off, we must close the service at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4.
August 6: Last Day of Tutoring for Summer 2026 in the ASC and Math Lab.
The ASC, Math Lab, and Writing Lab will be open during finals week through Thursday, August 6.
Our centers will be closed in preparation for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. Monday, August 24 is the first day of tutoring services for Fall 2026.
August 6: Last Day of Online Tutoring with NetTutor for Summer 2026
Online tutoring with NetTutor will be available all day if you need tutoring support.

ASC Check-In: Summer 2026, Week 6

It’s not unusual to get stuck while working on an assignments or a project. It happens to everyone. Here is some advice on how to get you moving again:
Step away for a minute. Your brain can get tired staring at a problem too long, so step away from your book or computer. Take a quick walk or do some quick stretches. By giving your brain a break, you can come back to your work with fresh eyes.
Break the work into tiny pieces. Big assignments can be overwhelming. try to focus on smaller steps.
Check the assignment. Sometimes, we get stuck because we forgot exactly what the assignment is asking for. Check the assignment prompt again, re-read class notes or look for a similar example your teacher did in class.
Ask for help. Reach out to a friend in class, your instructor, or visit the tutoring center. Often talking out your ideas can help you figure out the answer.
