Seeds at City Urban Farm

Seeds at City Urban Farm San Diego City College is busy training the next generation of urban farmers in sustainable agriculture to build a food secure city and region.

Located in the heart of downtown, Seeds@City Urban Farm is a working farm that also serves as the outdoor classroom for the Sustainable Urban Agriculture program at San Diego City College. Seeds@City was established in June 2008, the farm provides students with hands-on experiences necessary for learning the skills of urban farming and is the first––and still only–– program of its kind at an institution of higher education in San Diego County.

Join us next Thursday, July 17th from 10am–12pm for a Cempasúchil planting in the S-beds (raised beds in the Science Building quad).

Cempasúchil, or Mexican marigold, is a flower with deep cultural significance, especially for Día de los Mu***os and other traditions honoring life and memory. This planting is a chance to come together, share space, and mark the season as a campus community.

All are welcome. No farming experience needed. Just come by, lend a hand, and help us get these flowers in the ground.
