[Jennifer, Denmark] I have been back for about three weeks. I start feeling the counter cultural shock in the USA. I have been driving too much, eating too much fast food, paying too much for health care and prescription drugs, watching too much TV commercials, people seems to be less happy with their lives, and your friends seem to be too busy working all the time. I really miss the atmosphere (not the weather, lol) in Denmark. America has much to learn from other European nations.

I had green beer for the friday before St. Patrick's day. Today, it is still about 10 degree Celsius (50 degree F). But spring is around the corner. There are beautiful flowers on the road side.

Had free ice-cream from Paradis-is icecream because its their grand opening in Aarhus. Having icecream in 7 degree Celsuis (about 44 F) with the heavy windy condition, with gloves and hat on, is quite an experience!

[Jennifer, Denmark] Watched the final on Handball and Denmark won. Its a history win. They have not been winning for a long time. And...it has been snowing and there are accumulated snow. Perhaps it would be enough to make a snowman. I saw kids sledding today!

[Jennifer, Denmark] Went to London for the new year. It was crazy and amazing. The deep root of science from their universities is unbelievable. We visited the Science Museum. We walked over Darwin's grave (but not Newton's since his grave is next to the alter and it was blocked off) at the Westminster Abbey. Now back to the very windy and cold weather. It was hailing this afternoon.

[Jennifer, Denmark] Most stores in Aarhus are closed for 3 days: the 24th, 25th and the 26th. But the Movie theater is opened today. Saw Sherlock Holmes 2 in English with Danish subtitle. It was soooo good. I miss going to movie all the time back home. And I miss wearing saddles in December in San Diego....

[Jennifer, Denmark] First snow in Aarhus this morning...it is very beautiful! (picture coming up soon) We are heading to the coldest and the darkest month but it is full of Christmas spirit and joy.

[Jennifer, Denmark] Howling wind all day, big storm in Denmark this sunday. Wind up to 40 km/hour (about 25 miles/hour). We don't have Thanksgiving or black friday here. (Black Friday in US actually made it on the news here.) But this weekend also marks the start of Christmas shopping here. Stores are opened on sunday from now on until Christmas. City Center and the walking shopping streets are all decorated with lights.
