Yesterday we set-up our ofrenda to be ready for our event tomorrow at 6:00 pm. Today we finish the last details. It is always amazing how nice it is to build this altar with students making decisions about how to arrange the altar and bringing their artwork to show. It is a great community-building moment and also an opportunity to dedicate it. This year we honor the lives of our ancestors, those of migrants crossing borders, the lives of environmental defenders and all the lives we only know through statistics or news references. Never forgotten! The altar will be up until November 4th. This is how it looked like with about 8 hours of work yesterday. It needs a bit more today, but it is mostly done. Thank you Dr. Amanda Petersen for the artistic collaboration and to AChA, and Program in Latin American Studies students for your support to our Día de Mu***os and Community Communication class.
