It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Kip Hering, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Kip was an extraordinary man and a cornerstone of the history of this ranch and polo club. He proudly carried on the club founded by his father, Doc Hering, in 1956, preserving its spirit while welcoming generations of players, families and friends.

Kip lived a life deeply rooted in polo. He was 88 years old and continued playing the sport he loved until his mid 80’s, a true testament to his passion, grit, and joy for the game. One of his favorite quotes from his father, Doc Hering “polo is for fun,” perfectly captured who he was. To Kip, polo wasn’t just competition, it was about friendship, laughter, sportsmanship and camaraderie.

So many memories made here exist because of the foundation Kip built and protected for decades. While we mourn his loss, we are profoundly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind. His values, generosity and love for polo will continue to live on at Lakeside Polo Club and this ranch for years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kip’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace Kip
