University of San Diego Associate Professor of English Malachi Black, PhD, has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award. He will spend the 2024-2025 academic year in Lithuania, where he will work on his third poetry collection, “Theatrum Mundi,” and teach courses in American literature at Vytautas Magnus University.
“I first traveled to Lithuania in 2017, when I was invited to participate in the Druskininkai Poetic Fall, an international literary festival featuring guests from across the world. I was unsure of what to expect, but soon found myself captivated. I’m excited to have this opportunity to return, to advance my next book, and to bring the richness of American letters to new audiences,” says Dr. Black.
Congratulations, Dr. Black!
