Scholarpedia

Scholarpedia Scholarpedia is a community effort aimed at developing a comprehensive, current, and free scholarly encyclopedia.

Scholarpedia is a peer-reviewed encyclopedia written by the leading experts of their respective fields (see eg. http://www.scholarpedia.org/article/Scholarpedia:Authors). As an encyclopedia, it does not publish research papers or position papers, but, instead, is meant to serve as a repository for "living reviews" to be maintained by future generations of experts via a process of curatorship.

:"Modern Cosmology" by Prof.s Ellis (University of Cape Town) and Uzan (Université Pierre et Marie Curie-Institut d'astrophysique de Paris)

A key step in final publication is the selection of the article's Curator from among the article's authors. Each published article can have only one Curator. This individual must be recognized as an established expert on the article's topic, as they are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of fut...

:"Perceived location of touch" by Jack Brooks and Prof. Jared Medina (University of Delaware) http://ow.ly/RyHx30b7E66

Perceiving the location of touch on our skin is a surprisingly complex process. Signals from cutaneous receptors within the skin are transmitted to the

is a social-cognitive phenomenon in which two or more agents direct their attention together towards the same object. Definitions range from this rather broad conception to more specific definitions which require that, in addition, attention be directed to the same aspect of that object and that age...

:" Weak gravitational lensing" by Prof. Bartelmann and Dr. Maturi (Heidelberg University) http://ow.ly/II7U308wGEm

"According to the theory of general relativity, masses deflect light in a way similar to convex glass lenses. This gravitational lensing effect is astigmatic, giving rise to image distortions. These distortions allow to quantify cosmic structures statistically on a broad range of scales, and to map the spatial distribution of dark and visible matter. We summarise the theory of weak gravitational lensing and review applications to galaxies, galaxy clusters and larger-scale structures in the Universe."

RT : Entry on "shadowing" (by ) in : https://t.co/plODncGdNt

Shadowing refers to the relationship between the mathematical solutions of a differential equation (or map) and approximate solutions obtained in the presence of noise or round-off error. A mathematical solution is said to shadow a noisy solution if it stays close to the noisy solution for some amou...
