Associated Students of SDSU is an independent student-directed non-profit corporation. More than 72 years old and with an annual operating budget of approximately $18 million, A.S. derives approximately 25 percent of its revenues from student fees and 75 percent from revenues generated by programs it operates, including Aztec Student Union, Viejas Arena, Aztec Recreation (including the Aztec Recreation Center, Aquaplex, Mission Bay Aquatic Center), Children’s Center, Daily Aztec and Cultural Arts and Special Events. Mirroring America’s changing faces, A.S. represents a culturally diverse student body. The A.S. employs approximately 100 full-time staff and 1,200 part-time student employees.
