Hey all, I wanted to pass this information on to all of you. In our Academic Senate meeting yesterday, we approved a resolution to support GTA/GAs in the form of tuition waivers/remission. I am very happy about this as I have been in those committee meetings advocating on behalf of graduate students before this document reached the senate. While there is not a set policy in place as of yet, the university is moving in the right direction to support our esteemed graduate students.

The CSU Chancellor's Office has proposed a possible tuition increase for the 17-18 academic year which would affect all CSU students. Graduate students and other post-baccalaureate students, in particular, would be hit with an increase of $438+. Come join the Associated Students and your fellow Gators as we "Bite the Ballot" and register students to vote this upcoming Wednesday, 10/05/16, and Thursday, 10/06/16, on Malcolm X plaza from 11am-2pm! We will be tabling and registering students to vote as well as opening up discourse over candidates running for office and proposed ballot measures. There will also be a DJ as well as free tacos and horchata!
