Since its founding in 1988, the University of San Francisco's Center for Asia Pacific Studies (formerly the Center for the Pacific Rim) has been a leader in bridging the Pacific through programs that promote understanding, cooperation, and cultural exchange. Through is research, teaching, publications, and public, programs, the center holds a unique and important position as San Francisco's academic gateway to the Asia Pacific.

Congratulations to our center's Faculty Co-chairs, Shan Wang and Roger Chen, for being awarded the IAG grant for their project, “Understanding Enterprise Adoption of AI Systems in the U.S.: Equity, Governance, and Responsible Organizational Transformation”.

Shan was also awarded another grant for a separate project, “Building Sustainable, Interdisciplinary Analytics Infrastructure for USF.”

We are so proud of their accomplishments and grateful to work alongside faculty whose research and leadership continue to make such a meaningful impact through the center. This post is a small celebration of all that they have achieved.

The Interdisciplinary Action Group (IAG) supports collaborative projects that reflect University of San Francisco’s commitment to justice, equality, and social responsibility while helping create a fairer and more sustainable future.

Congratulations to Jamie Andan and Sofia Gomez, our graduate student candidates for the 2026 Fulbright Taiwan Summer Internship!

Jamie is currently pursuing an MA in Professional Communication at USF, and Sofia is currently pursuing an MS in Applied Economics (4+1). They will represent the Center for Asia Pacific Studies as interns at the Fulbright Taiwan office in Taipei this summer. We are so excited to support them on this cross-cultural professional journey!
