San Francisco State University MBA Concentration in Sustainable Business Rather, all three are increasingly considered integral to each other.

The MBA Concentration in Sustainable Business provides students with an in-depth appreciation of the environmental and social dimensions of conducting business in a global market. About the MBA Concentration in Sustainable Business

The business community no longer views economic, social and environmental sustainability as mutually exclusive. At a time when businesses are being held to higher stan

dards of environmental and social responsibility, San Francisco State has been recognized among the best MBA programs at instilling those values in future leaders. As the first California State University to offer an MBA with an emphasis in sustainable business, candidates pursuing the emphasis take standard core MBA courses in management, finance, marketing, operations, accounting and information systems, plus additional courses focused on sustainability

The MBA concentration provides students with an in-depth appreciation of the environmental and social dimensions of conducting business in a global market. Three aspects of sustainable business that improve a firm's long-term performance are emphasized:

- managing risks (regulatory, reputation, litigation, market)
- values-driven leadership
- recognizing market opportunities created by environmental and social challenges. Learning outcomes include how to articulate the business case for sustainability, develop and lead internal and external coalitions needed to drive organizational change, and implement metrics for measuring progress and providing accountability.
