This page features events and public announcements relative to the Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) program at University of San Francisco's School of Management. The MNA program is known for its capacity to develop successful and sustainable careers in the nonprofit field. Many MNA alumni are nonprofit leaders with executive positions at nonprofit corporations and other social economy org

anizations, including foundations, social enterprises, voluntary associations, faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, international and national nongovernmental organizations. The MNA program develops essential nonprofit managerial skills while enhancing leadership values for social responsibility and the common good. In addition to studying in San Francisco’s dynamic nonprofit environment, graduate students benefit from the program’s project based learning, experienced faculty, global immersions and richly diverse cohorts. The MNA program is designed for men and women currently working in nonprofit sector or other sector professionals who would like to work in the nonprofit sector. Students generally have at least 2-3 years of nonprofit experience. The curriculum addresses contemporary nonprofit challenges through practical, collaborative, and innovative solutions. It provides students the opportunity to master essential concepts, skills, and analytic tools relevant to local and global nonprofits. Courses investigate the political, economic, legal, and social environments of nonprofit organizations. Students gain knowledge of organizational behavior and management theory, and develop skills in specific areas such as board governance, strategic planning, fundraising and marketing, human resources and financial management, program evaluation and impact analysis, nonprofit legal issues, nonprofit advocacy, and international NGOs.

Before the pandemic, the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank would plan volunteer shifts three-to-five months in advance with 30 to 80 volunteers coming in per shift. Today, there are only 7 to 10 people volunteering for each warehouse shift. Yet because of increased need, they need to serve 16,000 more families than before the pandemic.

The former Jaye’s Timberlane Resort in Ben Lomond is set to become the future Veterans Village, a permanent affordable housing solution for veterans and their families. A purchase proposal from The Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building was accepted on Wednesday.

Initially, housing for as many as 16 pre-screened veterans and their families may be available on the turn-key property by early next year, after a Jan. 12 closing.

Marin County Board of Supervisors voted to apply for $16 million from Project Homekey to transform a shuttered facility in Greenbrae into permanent supportive housing for 43 chronically homeless people. Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco (ECS) identified the property as being eligible for the state's program, but some neighbors say the does not fit into the community and urged people to oppose the project.

The Marin County Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed last week to apply for up to $16 million in state funding for the project.
