Thank you to everyone who came out to our first social event of the semester, Do you Remember! We had such a great time playing skribblio and sharing childhood stories with you all. Although we are a career-focused club, we really value getting to know all of our members and we’re so glad that we were able to chat with some of you today! Lastly, we would like to extend our gratitude to the following industry leaders who joined us today: Helen Li, Elvis Fu, and Alan Wong. Thank you for your words of encouragement and for joining in on the fun!

With the launch of our new logo, our president, Francine Li, would like to reflect on our journey as a young club and her goal for our future.

“Hi everyone,

CDC just launched our new logo! Big thanks to the Digital Media Team and Heru!

I want to provide some background on our club and its journey so far. The CDC committee is made up of a group of students from SJSU that kicked-start this club in Fall 2019 from the ground up. Our mission & vision has shifted over time, but now our goal is to prepare a friendly and welcoming networking environment by connecting students to industry leaders. So, we began the process of changing our club image to match our new goal. We asked Heru to help us make the change and she did a great job of representing all of CDC’s characteristics in the club colors and logo. Our club is beginning a new and exciting chapter in its life and we hope that you will continue to join us on this journey.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, face-to-face networking and gatherings are prohibited. Clubs in general have struggled to switch to a fully online environment. But, CDC still stands strong with committed student leaders and advisors to provide the best virtual experience for our members.

I would like to send a big thanks to our advisors: Alan, Elvis, and Sam, our alumni, old leaders, the committee, the digital media team, and our members.”

Introducing our new club logo!
Our talented designer, Heru Wang, lead us through the process of developing a new color palette and logo. She curated and designed many palettes and logos for months to ensure they represent the goals and intentions of our club. Check out the pictures below to take a look at our new logo, color palette, and drafts of our logo.

Here are a few words from Heru about the process:

“Hi everyone! I’m Heru. I am the branding designer for the SJSU Career Development Club. Having a vision of creating a professional, warm, young, and inspirational organization, we carefully chose our theme colors to represent our energy and characters. We are devoted to creating a warm environment to help students to discover and thrive in their career path. I used text and symbols together to create the club logo. The “C” represents “career”, and the lines represent “steps”. We believe with our professional resources and welcoming environment; we can help you build the steps to your dream career.”
