The National Hispanic University officially closed at the end of the 2014-2015 academic year on August 23, 2015. Providing the NHU community with the necessary resources and information remains our top priority. To obtain information for student records, account payments, transcripts, and other general inquiries, please visit http://www.nhu.edu/contact/index.htm.

At the age of 35, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. He utilized the $54,123 prize money to continue the civil rights movement.

In addition to receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, some of his many accomplishments include:
- Leading the march on Washington, D.C. of more than 250,000 people and delivering his, “I Have a Dream” speech, furthering the civil rights movement
- Awarded 5 honorary degrees
-He is the only non-president to have a national holiday in his honor.
