A Perfect Silicon Chip?

An article published in The Wall Street Journal (Feb 28, 2026, behind the paywall) explains how Chemical and Materials Engineers are playing a critical role in inventing a 'perfect silicon chip'. Chemical engineers from Johns Hopkins University are exploring new light-sensitive materials, including specially designed metal-based compounds, that could allow chips to be etched with even greater precision and keep improving computing power.
