Hey all!

First off, I want to thank you all for your decision to initiate into Pi Tau Sigma this fall. Going into the month of November I just wanted to update you all on things that are going on:

Meet and Greet (Counts as your General Meeting requirements)
Wednesday November 4th at 6:00 p.m. in Room E336
- This is an opportunity for Initiates and Active Members to come together and just have a good time and bond with each other.
- Food and drinks will be provided, but feel free to bring anymore snacks
- We will be having a small engineering design contest with prizes going to the winning team

Annual PTS Mentorship Day
Thursday November 19th at 12:00-4:00 p.m. (Tentative) Location: TBA
Last year we had a really good turnout for this event, where we invited engineering students (primarily ME’s) to come out and talk to the members of Pi Tau Sigma if they have any questions regarding specific courses to take as well as specific professors. This year we want to expand, and we plan to host a panel addressing Internships in the industry. Our panel will help answer questions that engineering students may have when it comes to searching for internships, applying to them, and how to make the most out of their internship experience. For Initiates, this is one of our opportunities for you to volunteer and complete the requirement. We ask that you stay for a minimum of 1 hour just to be available for any students to come and talk to. Again, food and drinks will be provided.

SAN JOSE ASHRAE Technical Meeting and Student Night
Thursday November 11th at 5:30-8:15p.m.
Location: Biltmore Hotel 2151 Laurelwood Rd, Santa Clara, CA 95054
The American Society of Heating Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) San Jose Alumni Chapter is having their monthly Technical meeting. During this event they will be having a presentation over Integrated Building design. Prior to the presentation, there will be an opportunity to socialize and network with ASHRAE Alumni that are already in the industry. This would be beneficial for students who are or will be concentrating in Thermal and Fluids. The event is free to students and dinner will be provided. More information on this event will be on the picture attached below. Please registrar for the event at the link provided on the flyer.

Chair Positions

As of right now, there are 3 main chair positions that we need to be filled:

Historian: Responsible for keeping records of Pi Tau Sigma events in the form of Photos/Videos

Webmaster: Responsible for monitoring and maintaining our Chapter website

Membership Chair: Responsible in handling all affairs in regards to membership. i.e. If Initiates have questions you will be the person to come to and ask.

We do however, need to fill 2 other chair positions in order to have a complete cabinet for the ’16-’17 school year so if you are interested in the opportunity to gain some leadership experience please let me know in the following google form.
