Serve The National Library and Jointly Build a First Aid Philanthropy Community

The seventh lecture of the ICCPRA Community First Aid Alliance Series Philanthropy Lectures was successfully held
The seventh lecture of the Community First Aid Alliance series of public philanthropy lectures jointly organized by ICCPRA and the San Jose Public Library was held on February 11, 2023, 10:00AM-1:00PM (San Francisco time, USA) at the Joyce Ellington Library in San Jose, California synchronized online and offline. This is an important activity for ICCPRA to serve the community first aid philanthropy industry, and it is also another milestone event for ICCPRA to develop in the US market. A total of more than 50 students participated in this activity online and offline.
1. The ICCPRA Community First Aid Volunteer Team served the National Library for the first time

A team of community first aid volunteers, including ICCPRA ICPIS, served the National Library for the first time. Mr. Kenny, USJ lecturer, American Red Cross CPR Instructor, ICCPRA International Community Philanthropy Industry Executive Specialist, held a special workshop on "Family First Aid for Adult and Pediatric" for the National Library of the United States. Main lecture content: 1. "Common first aid scenarios and corresponding First Aid Response" 2. "Recommended first aid kit product red and usage guide"; 3. "Adult and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation cycle and AED Usage"; and 4. "Three effective method to handle choking".
In the section of "Common First Aid Scenarios and Corresponding First Aid Response", Kenny mainly explained how people can distinguish the symptoms and signs of patients and how to deal with certain emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, suffocation, and life-threatening Bleeding.
2. The designing of personal first aid kit method embodies the social service intelligence
In the module of " Recommended first aid kit product red and usage guide ", Kenny showed the students each item and usage in the first aid kit he usually carries and listed for the students' reference. Among them, he emphasized how to use it and, when to use it for some products: Tourniquet, Solar Mylar Blanket, Nasopharyngeal Airway and Super Glue. Under the guidance of the lecturer, the trainees personally experienced how to use these first aid items.
3. The National Library (San Jose) Community First Aid Volunteer Team was formally established

Some of the trainees who participated in the special lectures are willing to join the community first aid volunteer team of the International Library (San Jose) and provide long term community first aid services for the National Library.

School of ICCPRA of University of San Jose will cooperate with San Jose Public Library and hold the seventh lecture of the Community Philanthropy Series Lecture simultaneously online and on-site at the Joyce Ellington Branch Library on February 11th, 10:00AM – 1:00PM. We have invited Mr. Kenny Miao, USJ Lecturer, the International Community Philanthropy Industry Executive Specialist (ICPIE), and American Red Cross CPR Instructor and Miss. Joanna Wang, USJ Lecturer, the International Community Philanthropy Industry Management Specialist (ICPIM), and American Red Cross CPR Instructor to share American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED Blended Course.
As a professional certification training institution jointly established by USJ and Gosvea, ICCPRA provides American Red Cross-certified CPR training and International Community Philanthropy Industry specialist (ICPIS) certification training and provides USJ MBA advanced courses for ICPIE.

This workshop equips participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and babies. The class is led by certified instructors who will teach and demonstrate the CPR, first aid, and AED skills necessary to respond to emergencies. This class will give you the emergency skills required for various types of employment and for general safety. The program will include an informational lecture and practical demonstrations, allowing participants to learn and practice hands-on skills for emergency response.

Kenny Miao (ICCPRA ICPIE, American Red Cross CPR Instructor) and Joanna Wang (ICCPRA ICPIM, American Red Cross CPR Instructor) of Gosvea will be presenting this workshop. They are a part of the International Community CPR Alliance (ICCPRA) an international organization specializing in community philanthropy assistance. ICCPRA is an American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider. Everyone who attends this workshop can receive a certificate from ICCPRA.

This is a hybrid event and will take place in person at Joyce Ellington Library and online over zoom simultaneously. To attend the program in person please come to the community room at Joyce Ellington. Attended the event on site at Chengdu. There were also more than 50 people including some Tsinghua alumni, and overseas Chinese entrepreneurs who participated online. Everyone benefited a lot, and the meeting was a complete success.
The event was divided into three parts: speeches by guests, lectures on family first aid knowledge, and a road show for the ICCPRA project.
The American session was hosted by Miss. Joanna Wang (Lecturer of USJ, American Red Cross Instructor, American Red Cross CPR, ICCPRA ICPIM), and the Chinese session was hosted by Mr. Peng Wang.
1. Speeches given by guests
Dr. Claude Wang, the founder of ICCPRA, gave a speech: Every family should have a first aid responder who can respond to emergencies, and plans to target the community and help the community to build First Aid teams.
Mr. Yonggang Fei, executive vice president of Sichuan Tsinghua Alumni Association and chairman of Pioneer Group, gave a speech: we should keep up with the pace of technological revitalization and rural revitalization, further serve the society, and serve everyone well.
Mr. Wenlin Tan, President of Chengdu Charity General Association, gave a speech: With the development of society, the aging trend of the population is becoming more and more obvious. First aid knowledge for families is what we need right now. Every family must have a person who understands first aid knowledge to deal with emergencies. This is a how we can establishment of harmonious families and communities, thus training family first aid responder is also an important part of social charity.
2. Family First Aid Lecture
The family first aid knowledge lecture was given by Mr. Kenny Miao, USJ lecturer, American Red Cross CPR Instructor, American Red Cross CPR Certified, ICCPRA International Community Philanthropy Industry Executive Specialist (ICPIE), and master of Washington University in St. Louis. He mainly explains the emergency response methods in case of Heart Attack, Stroke, Cardiac Arrest, Life-threatening Bleeding, Choking. And demonstrated the operation essentials and steps of a complete CPR cycles for adults and infants; He also taught how to treat chocking infants, adults and special groups (pregnant women, people with inconvenient legs and feet, and the body is too large to use arms encircled).
3. Roadshow for ICCPRA project
The ICCPRA project roadshow was delivered by Dr. Claude Wang, President of University of San Jose, and the founder of ICCPRA. He introduced that ICCPRA is committed to building an international community first aid alliance, through the knowledge sharing of community rescue and family first aid, building a certification training system for international first-aid responders (CPR) and ICCPRA Community Philanthropy Industry Specialist (ICPIS), establishing a community first aid philanthropy team, and promoting the healthy development of the international community. The development goals and plans, development model, curriculum system, product services and future development of this project are described. It is hoped to become a component of modern society - the family need to have a person who understands first aid knowledge so when emergency come, we have a chance to help other while getting help from them.

The Signing Ceremony of Patten University & University of San Jose Learning Center (CD \SV) were successfully held.
At San Francisco time 1:00 PM on January 5, 2023, The Signing Ceremony of Patten University & University of San Jose Learning Center (CD \SV) were successfully held online through Zoom and on site at University of San Jose. Dr. Claude Wang, Founder and President of USJ; Ms. Sunneye Phillips, Patten University Board Secretary, California Teaching Credentials Deputy Director; JD. Tom Tafolla, VP and Professor of USJ gave speeches. Dr. Tony Hu, Special Advisor of Patten University, and Colleagues from Chengdu Branch of USJEdu Group attend the meeting.

Dr. Claude Wang, founder, and president of USJ, stated the aim of founding USJ is to provide a platform for Chinese students to get study abroad opportunities. USJ is a non-profit private University founded in 2015 and licensed by BPPE, which provide excellent educational graduate level MBA, MSCS Programs. By cooperating with Patten University to establish the learning center, we believe that we can provide better services for more than 100,000 students from our partner schools in China.

Ms. Sunneye Phillips, Patten University Board Secretary, California Teaching Credentials Deputy Director, mentioned the history of Patten University and showed interests in cooperating with USJ in her speech. She briefly introduces that Patten University is WASC-accredited University with both undergraduate and graduate programs. Ms. Sunneye also looking forwards to the learning center, willing to embrace the cross-cultural study environment and help international students to get further education.

JD. Tom Tafolla, VP and Professor of USJ, indicated that as a professor in USJ, he enjoys the teaching environment under the guidance of President Wang. He believes that the cooperation of USJ and Patten is important and has a bright prospect. He also indicated that we could provide more creative and useful services for international student through the Learning Center with Patten University.

This project aims to take advantage of the technical talents of Silicon Valley to provide Chinese students with online and offline education for undergraduates, masters. Patten has gotten the WASC-certified and USJ has gotten the BPPE certification for MBA and MSCS Program, and the Patten University and USJ learning center will provide the international education service for Chinese students. We believe that international understanding and educational opportunities would be enhanced by our cooperation.
