Happy Spring COSAM!! 🌸🌿 I hope you all had a successful finals week and a great week off ahead. Exciting news: the first College of Science and Math tour of Spring Quarter is today at 10:10am! Tours will be happening twice at week (Monday at 10:10am and Friday at 2:10pm). Come ask questions about different majors and minors available, how many giraffes tall is Baker? Talk to students about life as a COSAM student and the transition to virtual learning. Please join us to learn more about COSAM! Happy Friday COSAM community!

Starting this week we are going to be using our ambassador highlights to showcase our amazing graduating seniors! 🎓

First up is Emma Breit who will be graduating with a degree in Biological Sciences with an Anatomy and Physiology concentration and Biotechnology minor, WOW! She joined ambassadors way back in her freshman year and has also volunteered for the DRC (Disabilities Resource Center) and conducted research on RNA Transcriptomics during her time at Cal Poly. 🧬 Outside of the classroom Emma loves scary movies, puzzles, going to the beach, making enchiladas and hopes to start a veggie garden some day soon!

Following graduation, Emma will be attending a Master’s program within Biotechnology and will be pursuing a career in Regenerative Medicine.

Emma said that being a COSAM ambassador has, "brought me up-close and personal to the problems and challenges other students experience daily - they taught me how to respect, love, and support the underrepresented groups who are regularly discriminated against." 💛

The advice Emma shared with younger COSAM students was, "Soak up every second of college - school went by faster than I would've liked and it breaks my heart I can't stay longer.” We are sad you won’t be with us longer too, Emma! Thank you for your four years of commitment to ambassadors and we cannot wait to see what amazing things post-grad life brings you! 🥳

Happy Friday everyone! This week, we are thrilled to introduce you to Reagan, a 3rd year Biological Sciences major from Boulder, Colorado.

Reagan joined COSAM ambassadors this past winter to become more involved in our wonderful COSAM community! She also hoped to help prospective students find their future universities and homes. Reagan plans to become a physicians assistant after her time at Cal Poly. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog and is also involved in greek life and pre-medical organizations on campus.

Reagan shared that one of her favorite things about COSAM is, “how involved all the professors are. They are all extremely hands on and are always willing to help you out!”

We are so lucky to have Reagan as an ambassador, and are excited that she will be giving the final virtual tour of the quarter on Thursday, April 30th!

Happy Friday Mustangs!

Another week means another ambassador highlight! Today we are so excited to introduce Ellie Rabin, a 3rd year Public Health major with a minor in Spanish.

The pictures Ellie has shared with us are from her Fall quarter studying abroad in Uruguay! Although we missed her at our events that quarter we are happy to hear that she had a spectacular time! When she is not traveling the world, Ellie loves skiing, cooking, making her own jewelry and watercoloring on the beach.

She is also involved on campus with Hillel, Challah for Hunger, the Planned Parenthood Club and our Mobile Health Unit. When asked about her favorite part of COSAM, Ellie shared, "I appreciate all of the advisors that help me change my major from Liberal Studies to Public Health. I couldn't have done it without my inspirational professors and the help from my Public Health Advisor.” Well, we are certainly glad you were able to change your major and wish Ellie the best of luck as she pursues a Masters in Child and Maternal Health sometime in the future!

Thank you Ellie for being an amazing ambassador for COSAM!

Virtual Tours Update: You can now sign-up for our tours on the Cal Poly website at https://www.calpoly.edu/explore-cal-poly ! Go to the site and find the "Connect with your College" section. Under the College of Science and Mathematics, you will be able to register for a tour.

Although these tours will still be taking place on Zoom, signing up through Visit Days allows us to keep track of the number of visitors to expect, as well as prepare to present for your specific majors of interest!

We hope to see our perspective and future mustangs and supporters soon (virtually)!

Good morning everyone! We are excited to announce that our virtual tours of the College of Science and Mathematics will be beginning this week!
