Nobel Prize 🔬⭐️ Fred Ramsdell, who graduated from UC San Diego in 1983 with a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, is one of three recipients of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine thanks to his innovative research on the immune system.
Ramsdell's discoveries surrounding regulatory T cells led to the development of medical treatments for cancer and debilitating autoimmune diseases. UCSD says there are more than 200 related T-cell therapeutics currently in active clinical trials.
