Are you a member of a legacy family boasting multiple generations of Mustangs? We want to celebrate you! Join us on Friday, Nov. 1, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Cal Poly Alumni House for a special event during Mustang Family Weekend.

Tickets are $15 for parents and supporters and include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options and appetizers. Current Cal Poly students and children under 12 get in free. RSVP at alumni.calpoly.edu/events/cal-poly-alumni-2024-legacy-lounge-mustang-family-weekend.

Adam Kemp (Communication Studies, Business Administration, '23) launched the online shop turned brick and mortar Thrifty Beaches in 2022. Since then, Kemp has built a clientele of more than 3,000 clients in San Luis Obispo — some of whom are teachers and faculty at Cal Poly.

"Life has shown me that when you take a Learn by Doing approach, the tuition you pay is made up of your failures and sometimes all you get in return is experience," said Kemp. "But learning by doing isn’t just a school slogan for me — it’s a way of life."

Baseball Day is back! On Sunday, March 17, starting at 1 p.m., at Baggett Stadium, the Cal Poly Mustangs take on the CSUN Matadors.

Tickets are $33 and include access to Krukow's Klubhouse with unlimited beverages (non-alcoholic and/or beer and seltzer for guests 21+), hot dogs and snacks until the seventh inning. Registered guests can swing by the Cal Poly Alumni tent to learn about the Cal Poly Alumni Association, upcoming events in the San Luis Obispo area and pick up some Cal Poly swag.

For Lane and Jane Karney, graduation was just the beginning of their connection to Cal Poly.

After just three years of being off campus, Jane (Agricultural Communication, '20) accepted a job as a part-time lecturer in the Agricultural Education and Communications Department. Her husband Lane (Agricultural Communication, '15) is also a professor and taught two courses for the Agricultural Education and Communications Department in the spring quarter of 2023.

It was a busy spring for the couple — in March 2023, they welcomed their first child just a week after the end of Jane's first quarter of teaching.
