Poly SLO Kappa Alpha Theta raised $3,000 for CASA selling pancakes after CalPoly's homecoming game! These women are amazing and we thank them so much. Kappa Alpha Theta is a sorority based at Cal Poly that has identified CASA as their national philanthropic organization for their fundraising monies. In addition, to offer support to CASA, Theta women also come into the CASA office as interns. We are always grateful for their continued support and collaboration. Theta Love!

Sister Spotlight: Paige McGill || “When I first came to Cal Poly, all I wanted was to find a community of friends that would support me for me. Everything changed when I joined Theta and met the girls who love me for who I am, who support me every step of the way, and who will one day be bridesmaids in my future wedding. Hello!

As you may know, CASA—Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children—is our philanthropy and all of the money we raise at our events goes to local and national CASA.

CASA is a nonprofit organization devoted to making a difference nationwide, as well as in the San Luis Obispo County. The CASA program provides trained volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children who are under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. Volunteers spend many hours with their assigned child(ren) as a friend and support person and investigate all aspects of the child(ren)’s situation, speaking with teachers, social workers, friends, relatives, anyone who might provide insight into the child’s unique situation and needs. CASA volunteers are the eyes and ears of the court, providing the judge with valuable information that will help guide the decision making process for the future of these children.

We are quickly approaching our fall philanthropy event, Burritos for CASA. We ask that you consider supporting our cause. Your donation will help ensure the future success of our local CASA chapter.
