The Media & Communication Research Initiative (MC-Cal Poly) is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 cohort! In this program, you can apply to receive funding and support to present original research from a class project at an academic conference. Welcome to our new COMS majors! The COMS Department hosted a meeting last week for first years and transfer students to find out how to make the most of their time at Cal Poly. Students learned about tips for success, getting involved on campus, the debate team, and they also met their COMS academic advisors. Want to receive travel funding to present the results of a class project at a destination conference? The Media & Communication Research Initiative (MC-Cal Poly) interest form is due June 30! The MC-Cal Poly program provides financial support and encouragement for students who plan to present original class research projects at academic conferences. In this program, students will have the opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor throughout the process of submitting a research paper and preparing a presentation at an academic conference.
