The Strutters of Texas State University are the largest four year university dance team in the nation. dance team to perform in the People’s Republic of China.

The Texas State Strutters are the first precision dance team formed at a four-year university and is currently the largest in the nation. Since 1960, Strutters have served as ambassadors for Texas State University on state, national and international levels with performances in 26 countries spanning 4 continents. One of the most impressive honors was their selection as the first U.S. Other highlig

hts include: three Presidential Inaugural Parades, numerous NFL & NBA halftime performances, the nationally televised Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®, MTV’s Total Request Live, a national television commercial for Coca-Cola, appearances in five movies, and “America’s Got Talent.”

Today, we proudly honor our beloved founder, Mrs. Barbara Tidwell. Her unwavering dedication, vision, and devotion shaped Strutters into the extraordinary organization it is today. We are deeply grateful for the incredible legacy Mrs. Tidwell built, a foundation that continues to shape and inspire Strutters. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
