Meet Anjumand Ashraf, a civil engineering master’s alumna from Texas State University. She has been awarded several awards such as the Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Research Grant, the Water Environment Association of Texas Central Texas Section Scholarship, and the Texas American Water Works Association Capital Area Chapter Scholarship.

At an early age, Ashraf noticed a correlation between public health and access to clean water. With the aid of her scholarships and under the tutelage of Dr. Keisuke Ikehata, she has researched solutions to retrieve clean drinking water from diverse sources, such as HVAC condensate, rainwater, and reclaimed water.
