The San Marcos Police Department would like to thank the Texas State University chapters of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc Fraternity and the Sigma Delta Lamda Sorority for inviting officers to speak to the organizations in a forum addressing police interactions with people of color. The San Marcos Police Department believes that communications and education are effective in gaining understanding within the community. This type of dialog fosters positive interactions and community relations and helps to eliminate unhealthy stereotypes.
