Palomar College, ESL Evening Program

Palomar College, ESL Evening Program This program offers English as a Second Language courses in the areas of listening, speaking, writing. (CDCP means career development/college preparation.)

Our noncredit ESL Program is one of the few in California's Community Colleges that provide CDCP ESL courses along with an ESL Noncredit Certificate of Completion. Our program offers a sequence of four courses: NESL 301, NESL 302, NESL 303, and NESL 304. These courses teach English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills up to the low intermediate level. These skills in English are needed

for employment or needed to successfully complete college level courses for a career or for associate or transfer degree programs. A no-cost assessment determines appropriate initial placement in the sequence. In order to earn a certificate, students must successfully complete NESL 304. The sequence leads to credit vocational ESL courses that prepare students to enter recognized career fields and to degree applicable credit reading and composition courses. All our classes are taught by qualified instructors, and students will encounter a rigorous curriculum. All classes are open to the public. No enrollment fees are charged, though all students are required to pay a $19 health fee.
