6:30pm WED (10/16) | Break The Silence: 1619 Remembered (Global Leadership Center)

Black Student Union (BSU) is putting on an event in commemoration and lament for those who have suffered since the arrival of Slavery to the United States 400 years ago in 1619. On Wednesday, the black students choosing to do so, will hold a day of silence in remembrance. This silence is representative of society’s silence around the topic of slavery and it’s continued lasting effects. Join us in breaking the silence with a time for reflection and a chance to hear from black students of various backgrounds about their unique stories and the weight they carry with being black in America. Comments and remarks from some Westmont Faculty will also be featured.
