Another successful Harvest Fest in the books!🍁🧡🌾

It was a quintessential fall evening full of apple cider pressing, pumpkin carving, chick-or-treating, thrifting at Bucky’s closet pop-up, composting, and eating freshly baked cookies. Big thanks to for collaborating and putting on three wonderful performances! 🍎🎶🌼🪱🎃

It was an evening of connection, celebration and selfies as SCU students met with power industry leaders and City of Santa Clara officials at the Sustainability Careers Meetup and the Silicon Valley Power Sustainable Futures Scholars and Fellows Dinner.

Hosted in partnership with the and Enrollment Management, the networking event was provided valuable connections and insights into careers in clean energy and public service.

The evening closed with a dinner honoring our newest student cohort of SVPSF scholar and fellows, who were praised for their commitment to shaping a more sustainable future by speakers President Julie Sullivan, City of Santa Clara Councilmember Sudhanshu Jain, SVP Chief Electric Utility Officer Manuel Pineda, and Lindsey Kalkbrenner, Director for the Center of Sustainability.

A huge thank you to our community and university partners and guests for making this event and the SVPSF program so impactful..

DEADLINE EXTENDED! Want to showcase your sustainability research and thought leadership? Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to present at the Sustainability & Environmental Justice Research Symposium, SCU’s showcase of student research projects that advance the common good and protect our common home. For more details, see the Call for Proposals form (link in bio). Deadline to submit is Feb 18th. The symposium takes place on March 11, 2025.

We had a great time at Maker Night: Sewing 101 last week! 🪡 Special thanks to Taśa Gleason and Naomi Arnst from the Theatre and Dance Department for teaching us all about the basics of sewing.

This initiative is a collaboration between the Center for Sustainability and the Division of Mission and Ministry.
