Did you know that you can learn how to sail a boat at UCSC? ⛵️ We sent our (recently certified) outdoor expert, Ava, to check it out! Certainly, a banana slug bucket list experience! 👀

The UCSC Community Boating Center is a community-based program connecting students and community members to the Monterey Bay through various recreational activities such as sailing, rowing, and kayaking! 🛶 Staff and experienced participants help share their knowledge of equipment, skill development, and safety to help others build confidence on the water! UCSC students can even enroll in physical education courses through the center! 🌊

Various clips over exciting and dramatized pirate adventure music of them on a sunny day, at the Santa Cruz harbor, humorously chatting on a moving sailboat, overlaid reaction memes, and screen recordings of relevant websites such as the UCSC Community Boating Center site.

Campus so beautiful it could be from a video game... but did you know UCSC also offers a Computer Science B.S. in Computer Game Design? 👾

Given the growing cultural and economic importance of the computer gaming industry, the major brings together the technical, narrative, and artistic sides of game-making, with multiple chances to build your own games along the way, such as the intensive year-long game project in the final year. It’s regularly ranked among the top public university game design programs in the country! 🥇

The UC Santa Cruz Forest Fellows Program offers a unique, interdisciplinary approach to learning that extends beyond the traditional classroom and into the university’s surrounding redwood forest. Grounded in experiential education, the program integrates environmental studies, social justice, and community engagement to provide students with a deeper understanding of the relationships between land, people, and policy. The redwood forest serves not only as a natural setting, but also as an active learning environment where students can engage directly with ecological systems and reflect on their role within them. Interested on where and how to apply? Visit the Campus Natural Reserve website! 🌲🔬

Video Description: Video shows a student being interviewed about the Campus Natural Reserve fellowship position. Video then transitions to footage of a large group of students in outside setting with redwoods, interacting with nature and touching scattered samples. Clips display students going on hikes, animals, and plants.
