The Information Systems Management Association (ISMA) at the University of California Santa Cruz is a student-run organization that exists to create an active community of students interested in business and technology and to create a strong identity within the School of Engineering and the University. ISMAβs efforts will focus on career development; community building; networking; and strengtheni
ng relations with UCSC alumni. The organization grew from the Information Systems Management major at UC Santa Cruz, which has now been renamed to Technology & Information Management. The major positions students to oversee the collection, manipulation, storage, distribution, and utilization of an organization's information resources in areas such as engineering, manufacturing, finance, accounting, and marketing. This field addresses the aforementioned issues as they relate specifically to technological enterprises, as well as the development, management, and commercialization of technologies/products. AIS
The Association for Information Systems (AIS) is an international professional organization serving as the premier global organization for academics specializing in Information Systems. Its mission is to progress knowledge in the use of IT to improve organizational performance and individual quality of work life. AIS has members from over 90 countries, and is comprised of three different regions: Region 1, the Americas; Region 2, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa; and Region 3, Asia and the Pacific. While each of these regions boasts its own unique character, each is also actively engaged with the goals and mission of the association overall. As a recently admitted chapter of Association for Information Systems, ISMA looks forward to utilizing the vast amount of resources they have to offer to help expand our organization; attending conferences, access to vast Information systems libraries and research, and the opportunity to network on a national and even a global scale.
