UCSC Model UN

The members of this group are dedicated advocates of Model United Nations here at UCSC. We promote campus awareness, participation and support for MUN.

Model United Nations activity on the UCSC campus is entirely student operated. This page serves to collect and organize the disparate MUN advocates scattered around campus for the purpose of organizing and operating MUN activities. There are 2 core student-operated organizations on campus devoted to MUN:
1.) SlugMUN Club: hosts debates (both MUN format, and various other types), and teaches newco

mers MUN procedure in Fall quarter when the class is not operating.

2.) Model United Nations Class: is a 2-unit course is held Winter and Spring quarter. This course teaches newcomers 'what is', as well as 'how to' MUN. As such, the curriculum includes lessons as well as formal in-class debates. Experienced MUNers are invited to enroll as 'Student Teachers,' to facilitate lessons and debates. Both club members and students in MUN-class are encouraged to join the SlugMUN competitive team in inter-collegiate Model UN conferences, such as UCBMUN this coming March.
