⚖️ PAD in Practice ⚖️
From internships and jobs to campus involvement, our members are gaining hands-on experience and building skills beyond the classroom! We’re so proud of everything our PAD members are accomplishing and can’t wait to see where these experiences take them. 💼📚✨
Evie Chau:
Aside from hanging out w friends and family back home, I’ve been interning with Assemblymember Jose Luis Solache Jr. at the State Capitol as a legislative/public policy intern. At the Capitol I’ve been meeting with lobbyists and constituents about policy priorities, attending committee and floor hearings, and researching policy issues. I’m super grateful for this experience and couldn’t have done it without PAD!

This summer, I worked as a legal secretary at the Law Office of Mathew Martinez in Sacramento, where I gained experience preparing legal filings, organizing case materials, communicating with clients, and assisting with criminal and civil cases. This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Mexico City for five weeks! Through the UCEAP program, I connected with students from other UC campuses and developed meaningful lifelong connections not only with my peers, but also with the dedicated staff and professors who made the experience so memorable. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that allowed me to reconnect with my cultural roots, visit many monumental sites pivotal to Mexico City’s history, and fully immerse myself in the beauty and culture of Mexico.
