This too-lively yearling axolotl took a leap out of its watery home and fell 3 feet to the concrete floor. Still alive but a bit woozy. The close-up shows hemorrhaging in capillaries on toes, as a result of the blood-pressure spike when it hit the floor.
I gave it a salt bath and it's now in isolation--let's hope for recovery.

A few cells of Lobelia Cardinalis, at 1000x. You can clearly see the chloroplasts, which are the green blobs inside the cells. Some nuclei may also be discernible. This was done in the second microscopy practicum in the freshman lab.
