From launching a brand-new program to helping students prepare for careers in electrical trades, instructor Pierson Bourquin has helped make SFCC’s first year of the Electrical Technology certificate program a success. ⚡
Students in the program have been building hands-on skills, working with industry tools and preparing to enter a growing workforce right here in New Mexico.
Thanks to Pierson for bringing real-world experience, energy and dedication to the classroom — and congratulations to the graduating Trades Class of 2026!

Big congratulations to the graduating Trades Class of 2026! 🎉
HVAC/Plumbing instructors Amanda Reta and Mario Larranaga recently helped connect students with local contractors during a rapid hire event at SFCC. Students from the HVAC and Electrical programs had the opportunity to introduce themselves, network with employers and share their resumes as they prepare to enter the workforce.
Thank you to Amanda and Mario for the energy, mentorship and real-world experience they bring to students every day. Their dedication is helping to build the future of trades in our community.
