YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN US!
We need everyone from opera and traditional choral singers to shower singers who are willing to learn and work hard—especially if you are a tenor or a bass!
In the fall semester, Concert Chorale and Chamber Choir will perform Franz Schubert’s Mass in G and several other works with chamber orchestra and solo instruments. In addition, Chamber Choir will perform its own concert of vocal chamber music from the Early Music and Common Practice eras, as well as some solo opportunities.
***EVERYONE: Please complete all 4 steps listed here if you plan on joining us!*** The 4 steps can be found on the “Sign Up for a Choir” section of the website (www.smc.edu/choirs). Here’s a quick overview, but please visit the website.
STEP 1: Choose a Choir.
More information in the “Who We Are” section of the website.
STEP 2: Take 60 seconds to fill out the form.
This will help us have music for you at the first rehearsal!
STEP 3: If you have not yet done so, enroll as a student in the choir(s) you selected in STEP 1.
-See information on the website if you are unable to enroll as a student or need guidance in how to do so.
-Also, eligible community members, please email me directly, and I will send you enrollment information through the Continuing Education department.
STEP 4: Prepare for and Attend Your Voice Placement or Audition.
-Chamber Choir performers from Fall 2025 do not need to re-audition, but they must be present for callbacks during the first week of rehearsals.
-Former Concert Chorale singers who are not looking to change voice parts do not need to repeat their placement.
-Everyone else: The dates are February 10-12 and times vary.
-You should complete your audition for Chamber Choir or Voice Placement for Concert Chorale BEFORE the first rehearsal. Please reach out if you have questions/concerns.
***For more information on Chamber Choir & Concert Chorale, including when the first rehearsal is, when/where we will perform, etc., see the information on the “Who We Are” section of the website (www.smc.edu/choirs)***
