Celebrating Karen Silberg đź’ś

Karen’s journey into nursing has been rooted in compassion, community, and a desire to be a calming presence for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Through nursing school, leadership, volunteer work, and community outreach, she has continuously shown up for others with care and empathy.

Karen reminds current students of the importance of networking, mentorship, curiosity, and balance, encouraging future nurses to lean on one another and remember they do not have to navigate this journey alone.

As she graduates with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and cannot wait to see where her journey in healthcare leads next. Congratulations, Karen!

Celebrating Sophie Dixon-Sutton đź’ś

Sophie’s passion for healthcare comes from her love for people and her desire to support others through difficult moments in life, even if it’s simply by being another set of ears, hands, and support when someone needs it most.

After earning her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Sophie hopes to become a Labor & Delivery nurse, where she can be part of welcoming new life into the world and supporting families during such an important moment.

We are so proud of Sophie and all of the compassion, authenticity, and care she brings into healthcare. Congratulations, Sophie!

Celebrating Montoya Saechao who graduated this past Fall 2025 đź’ś

Montoya’s journey into healthcare was inspired by a powerful experience, a healthcare professional who made her feel safe and at ease during a difficult moment. That experience inspired her to pursue nursing so she could provide that same comfort and care to others.

Today, Montoya is currently an RN Clinical Coordinator and continues working toward her future goal of becoming a NICU nurse and one day teaching future healthcare professionals.

We are so proud of all she has accomplished and grateful to have been part of her journey. Congratulations, Montoya!

Celebrating Dulce Brambila đź’ś

Since she was a little girl, Dulce knew she wanted to work in healthcare. Growing up translating and advocating for her parents inspired her to pursue nursing so she could provide others with the same safety, comfort, and care during vulnerable moments in their lives.

Today, Dulce graduates with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing and will continue her education at Sonoma State University to pursue her BSN. ✨

Over the past several years, Dulce has also given back to the HOPE community as an Anatomy, Nursing A Semester, and B Semester tutor, supporting and uplifting so many students along the way. We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, leadership, and care she has brought to our community.

Congratulations, Dulce, we are so proud of you and cannot wait to see all you accomplish in healthcare. ❤️❤️❤️

Celebrating Nancy Andrade-Sanchez đź’ś

As a first-generation Latina and the oldest daughter in her family, Nancy’s passion for nursing was shaped through years of caregiving, advocating for her loved ones, and witnessing the barriers immigrant families face in healthcare. Her experiences inspired her to pursue a career where patients feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Despite many challenges along the way, Nancy continued to believe in herself and push forward. Today, she graduates with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing and will be transferring to Sonoma State University to continue her journey — becoming the first nurse in her family. ✨

We are so proud to have been part of Nancy’s village and cannot wait to see the impact she will make in healthcare and her community!

To our 2026 graduates — we are endlessly proud of you. 🤍

This year has held so much joy, celebration, resilience, and also deep sadness for our community. As we recognize the loss of two incredibly heart-led programs that supported our health sciences students (Avanzando and Pre-NURSE Pathway), we also recognize the impact they made on every student, staff member, and future healthcare worker.

Even in moments of uncertainty and loss, we push forward. We continue advocating and fighting for the support our students deserve. Because our future CNAs, dental assistants/hygienists, doctors, psychologists, therapists, nurses, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and community leaders matter too much.

To our graduates: your determination through long nights, difficult semesters, personal sacrifices, and systems not always built to support you has been extraordinary to witness. You are the reason this work matters.

Congratulations Class of 2026. We carry both grief and pride with us, but most importantly, hope for the future you are helping create. 🩺✨

Caminos en Salud was more than a conference, it was a space rooted in comunidad, cultura, representation, and hope. đź’ś

From student researchers and community partners to our inspiring keynote and panelists, every conversation reminded us how powerful it is for students to see themselves reflected in healthcare spaces. Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared their stories, supported our students, and helped create such a meaningful day.

We are deeply grateful to our HOPE, Avanzando, and Pre-NURSE Pathway teams, volunteers, and community partners for making this event possible. The impact of this day will stay with our students for a long time. ✨

With gratitude,
HOPE & Avanzando
