NorCal - Public Media opened their new facilities in October and I am honored to have toured the facilities today. Public journalism is important and we are proud that so many Santa Rosa Junior College students from the journalism and media programs have served as interns over the years. We have some exciting times coming ahead and community partnerships that uplift our community are so important! Thank you to the leadership team for a great visit! I successfully found the right bus route to get to work today during Sonoma County's Week Without Driving. What an adventure! On today's commute, I was joined by Noah Abrams from KRCB 104.9 radio to talk about this initiative and the travel challenges for SRJC students and staff and Santa Rosa. I appreciated watching a student get in a last-minute study session on the bus - that last little bit of "quiet" time. I hope she did well! We can't control the bus schedule, and we were a little delayed, which meant I had to hustle to my first meeting. I hope the student made it to her exam on time. Thanks for the great work organizing this initiative. I will be in reflection mode on how to continue improving access to campus for students and employees.
