Christ College offers a single degree program: a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Entrepreneurship. I can see how that might seem like an odd pairing at first, but the two are, in fact, deeply complementary. I’ve found in my conversations that one of the best ways to understand the Christ College curriculum is to see it as an effort to embody the Great Commandment. Let me explain.
In the humanities we learn to see the glory of God in the wonder of God’s creation and learn to love God more deeply with all that we are. In entrepreneurship we learn to practically love others through creating spaces for meaningful work and seeking the common good of the community. In short, every aspect of a Christ College education finds its meaning and focus in worshiping God.

The content of each course is understood as being created, “for him and through him and to him,” and the end of each course is “to him be all glory forever” (Romans 11:36). This is not a replacement for academic rigor but is the very reason and motive for it. Each class is taught by gifted professors trained in their disciplines and engaging thoughtfully with the best literature of the past and present.

There is great joy in the academic setting—the life of the mind carries an adventure that is not for the faint of heart. As you know, learning is not passive, but dynamic. There are new challenges that must be met with intellectual courage, tenacity, and grit. It is this type of education that shapes character and transforms lives.

The sense of accomplishment is also as joyous as the challenge. Rising to the occasion forces you to your knees in prayerful dependence upon the Maker of the mind and the Creator of all that is knowable. When the intellectual challenge is overcome, worship is the fitting response—deep gratitude for the gift given, and gift received. The Christian intellectual tradition described this as “doxology,” which was the only proper response to “theology.”

The intellectual challenges are foundational to Christ College. The life of the mind is an invitation to love right things in right ways. Far from an isolated, solitary path of knowledge, learning is a very relational effort that leads to an ever-deepening love of God and neighbor.

At Christ College, we don't just teach the Great Books — we're actively engaged in the broader conversation about what faithful Christian education looks like today.
Last week, that meant joining for the Purposefully Protestant conference alongside Dr. Chris Castaldo, Bishop Julian Dobbs, and our own Dr. Tyler Bauer.

This is the community your college education could be rooted in. 🔗 Link in bio to learn more.

Over the past few years, a noticeable shift has occurred in my classroom. Young men who once seemed content to simply “get by” are now asking deeper questions about what kind of men they want to be and are interested in engaging with great thinkers of the past. The data, it turns out, is beginning to affirm this shift. Gen Z church attendance among young men has quadrupled, with many drawn to more liturgically traditional expressions of Christianity. Statistics are often elastic and subject to debate, but this trend is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

One thing I find tremendously encouraging is that young men are seeking something stable. Not stability as an end, but what produces stability—a solid foundation. A foundation on which they can stand, but, further, that transcends them, grounding them in something greater than themselves.

"What mean these stones?" — Joshua 4:6 KJV
Our freshmen close out the year by marking a stone with their name, laying a foundation for the future. One day, generations from now, someone will ask about these stones. And the answer will be: these were the ones who came first. ✝️🪨

At Christ College, we spend a LOT of time with these thinkers. But if we had to pick two for a long flight… Plato and Augustine. No contest. ✈️📚
