The Georgia Southern University Model African Union Team traveled to Washington, D.C. from February 18–22, 2026 to participate in the International Model African Union Conference (IMAU). During the conference, our delegates proudly represented the nations of Sierra Leone and Ghana, engaging in thoughtful debate, diplomacy, and policy discussions with students from across the country.

We are especially proud to celebrate two of our outstanding delegates: Makaylah Bynes, who received Outstanding Delegate in the Executive Council, and KJ Fletcher, who earned Outstanding Delegate in the Peace and Security Council.

Your dedication, leadership, and commitment to diplomacy exemplify the excellence of our team. We are incredibly proud of how you represented Georgia Southern on the international stage. 🌍✨

Hey guys!!! I am running for Executive Vice President for Student Government!!

I want to focus on making our campus more unified and welcoming — especially for students of color. While we have a diverse student body, not everyone feels that sense of belonging, and I want to help change that by bringing students and organizations together so everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

All students currently enrolled at Georgia Southern will receive a ballot in their Georgia Southern student email, so make sure to check your inbox!

Voting opens March 9th at 12:00 a.m. and runs through March 11th at 11:59 p.m.

I would truly appreciate your support!! 🦅- Taylor Mellish
