August is National Make-A-Will Month, a perfect time to reflect on your legacy and the causes that matter most to you. Whether you're creating your first will or updating an existing one, you can help shape the future of Savannah State University through a simple, but powerful gift option called "planned giving". Regardless of age, planned giving allows donors to make a more substantial impact through their estate than they may have thought possible, without affecting their discretionary income and often providing potential financial benefits.

You can designate your planned gift to support any area of SSU that aligns with your values by using sample bequest languages offered by the Division of University Advancement. We are grateful for planned gifts of any size. However, with a planned gift of $25,000 or more, you will receive an exclusive invitation to join the 1890 Legacy Society. Named in honor of SSU's founding year, this distinguished giving society celebrates the vision and dedication of those who support SSU's future through their estate plans.

If you've already included SSU in your estate plan, please let us know so we can document your gift accordingly and ensure your wishes are honored. Contact our Gift Planning Officer, Mr. Johnny McDonald at [email protected] or 912-358-3062.
